about me

Michael has established his reputation as a primarily live pianist, interested primarily in solo, duo and small ensemble contemporary, latin and improvised music.  He makes a living as a pianist performing locally and overseas within various ensembles.

Michael enjoys a diverse and dynamic performance schedule. International engagements have included Piano bar and hotel performances and residencies in Hong Kong (InterContinental, HKJC), Macau (MGM) and China (Schenzen), to mutliple world Cruise ship contracts (Royal Caribbean, Holland America).  He is always interested in overseas work and opportunities to travel, listen and perform with other musicians from around the world.

From his home town of Melbourne, Australia, Michael performs with numerious vocalists, Jazz and Latin ensembles, and function bands.  Michael commenced piano and drum set lessons when he was 14. Studying music with teachers from both the classical and jazz idioms, through Monash University and Box Hill Institute of Tafe, Michael appreciates honest, heartfelt, genuine and soulful music.

"There are so many musical possibilities, so many influences, so many new sounds to explore!"

Jazz, Classical, Experimental, Latin and Brazilian music with a particular interest in improvised music.
